Over ten thousand titles ranging from Philosophy to Religion, Arts and Recreation to English literature and Fiction, from Biographies to Adventure, Hindi literature and fiction are available. A spacious well-planned reading room helps them to obtain necessary reference material for projects and assignments; we aim to promote the joy of reading, and to provide curriculum support.
SCIENCE LABS
The school boasts of state-of-the-art Science laboratories where the students get to nurture their scientific temperament with the guidance of well qualified teachers. The three laboratories Physics, Chemistry and Biology have the latest world class modern equipment, the students carry out experimental observations and deductions in tandem with the theory and hence they are able to correlate their previously learnt theoretical knowledge with practical verification and analysis. The school has a well trained and skilled faculty to assist and guide the students in their endeavors.
COMPUTER LAB
The ongoing IT and computer revolution have altered the paradigm in the modus operandi of accessing and imparting of knowledge. The vast ocean of knowledge in every possible subject or sphere is now available at the press of the button. Besides accessing knowledge, the students can experience a fun-filled, interesting and exciting study time, exploring a new world of people and places, wildlife and weather events, from pre-historic life to the nuclear age and into the depths of space, Therefore, the computer labs have become the new learning centers in today’s curriculum and keeping this in view the school has a modern and a high end computer lab. Our students have unlimited access to computers along with the associated professional software tools that go with them.
Our teaching laboratories are equipped with Windows NT and multimedia PC’S all networked to common file servers and connected to the outside world via the internet. In our computer labs the students discover the structures of underlying software, stretch creative talents to design new concepts and explore new dimensions created by computing technology.
MATHEMATICS LAB & MULTIMEDIA ROOM
In order to make Mathematics more interesting and easier to learn a colourful Mathematics lab has been set up in the school. It encompasses a play way method to enrich the learning, which challenges the children’s logical thinking and problem-solving faculties. Students are encouraged to freely experiment with figures and mathematical objects like cubes, pyramids, cylinders and spheres in the laboratory. It ensures spontaneous learning and enables students to overcome the fear of Mathematics. Besides helping the students in understanding mathematical equations and concepts it helps in unlocking the reasoning ability and inculcating a systematic and practical perspective and approach to potential problems they are likely to encounter in their careers and their future lives.
To assist in effective classroom pedagogies and make learning interesting and interactive, VIS boasts of a Hi Tech and spacious Audio Video room with an LCD projector and multimedia facilities in which audio-visual media is utilized to augment learning in consonance with the adage ¨seeing is believing¨. The school has a comprehensive collection of resource material to complement the classroom teaching thus making learning more joyful and fun filled.
R.O. WATER FILTRATION PLANT
Health and hygiene have always received our painstaking attention. In keeping with this, we have devised and commissioned our very own water filtration plant for the overall welfare of everyone of our students, staff, visitors and guests. Water-borne diseases are rampant to-day. Thus, this reverse osmosis mineral water filtration plant has been set up at the right time and is a boon to all concerned which ensures that the children get clean drinking water.
FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT
Fire Safety is a key element in ensuring the safety of the pupils and preventing any untoward incident. Towards this end the school is equipped with ultra modern and effective Fire Safety equipment. Mock rehearsals are carried out periodically and in consonance with the dictum ‘Prevention is better than cure’, fire safety measures are regularly monitored. Fire safety consciousness is also instilled in the students as part of becoming a responsible citizen.
IN-HOUSE CLINIC
The school has a well-equipped health clinic with a resident doctor and two nursing staff available round the clock to provide quality medical care and take care of the children’s minor illness and injuries. We provide professional medical care to our students through first aid and emergency care.
The school caters to crisis preparedness, maintenance of health records, dissemination of information on communicable diseases and their prevention. Regular monitoring of students with past medical history as informed by the parents is carried out by the teachers and school medical staff. In case of an emergency and to ensure timely help and specialized treatment, the school has a tie up with a panel of specialist doctors and nursing homes.
SAFETY & SECURITY OF THE CHILDREN
- We want and keep each of our schools a really safe place.
- We ensure the safety of the learners through the following routines:
- Visitors have to enter invariably, by the front door, check in and out in the register kept for this purpose.
- We expect the students to be on time every day, so that an absence is speedily detected.
- We encourage parents to send a note ahead. This makes our job smoother and easier.
- We do not divulge any information about any child to unknown / unauthorized persons, telephonically or personally.
- In to-day’s disturbed environment, if we receive information about anything untoward, we in conjunction with the police force, immediately decide on the course of action.
HOUSE-KEEPING & SECURITY
It is not enough to just have a lot of facilities but ignore their up-keep and maintenance. That is why a very reputed private company has been contracted to look after them meticulously. The entire campus every square inch of the area, within and outside wears a spotlessly pristine pure look at all times.
“Cleanliness is next to Godliness” is a much-repeated axiom. We do total justice to that. For our young learners it is a great take-off and shall prove a lifelong benefit.
Similarly, highly trained securities supervise and manage the security aspect round the clock day in and day out. Visitors are closely but cordially monitored. These days security is very important. Therefore, after scrutiny and checking and rechecking, dubious characters unable to justify and prove their antecedents are not given admittance. It has been well said “Discretion is the better part of valor.”
TRANSPORT
To manage a Group of Institutions boasting of more than nine thousand students, a modern, highly disciplined transport system is imperative. A fleet of nearly fifty ultra-modern, high-tech buses run all across the metropolis to oversee the to and fro travel, safely and punctually. Vastly experienced and qualified professionals carry out all aspects of the transport system painstakingly without any hitch.
